That weekend on Saturday I decided to go to the north-eastern Lithuania by bus, then cycling in the Gražutės regional park and after that - visit my friend who lives not very far from this park. On Sunday go home by bus.
Even before leaving my city, the first problem – unhappy bus driver that he had to take my bike, because I waited for it not in the bus station, but in the bus stop near my home. After repeating several times that they only take bikes in bus station, bus driver takes my bike in and then we go! But ok, next time I will go to the bus station :)
After spending 3 hours in the bus, I got off the bus in the village Degučiai and I was a bit lazy to start my bike trip, but just until first lake I saw on my way. And at the end, after I passed nearby 8 more lakes, I started call this trip “between lakes”. I was quite slow, because almost all the way I needed to cycle on unpaved roads or forest’s pathways and surroundings attracted often my attention, so instead of 60 km that I planned to do, I only cycled 50 km and didn’t see everything I wanted (but I will come back one day for sure). After first rain drops in Salakas, I decided to take shorter good road to Degučiai, where I had already been, and not to the other village, new for me, but two times further than Degučiai. When I reached this village, there was one more surprise which was waiting for me – there was only one bus to go out of this village that day and not sure that it takes bikes, so I was worried when waited for this bus. When the bus arrived, the driver asked me to say the poem if I want to take my bike together :) Well, finally we agreed for “thanks” and I was happy not to be stuck in this village, and not to be too late for dinner at my friend’s home. That evening I went to Utena, where my friend was already waiting for me and we had nice dinner and long discussions together. On Sunday I also spent the time with her and her family. After midday I took the bus to come back to Kaunas and was not very happy to finish this nice weekend. All that was left for me – great memories and photos. Here are few of them:
